Brand New to Guitar? Start Here! (Very First Beginner Guitar Lesson)

If you are brand new to guitar and trying to learn how to play, this lesson series is for you. This is Part One in the Brand New Beginner Guitar Lesson series. In your very first guitar lesson, you will start your journey to learn how to play guitar. We start with the absolute basics, of learning the parts of the guitar, how to hold the guitar, how to hold a guitar pick, and choosing the right type of guitar pick. Then we will show you proper guitar strumming techniques, and proper left hand positioning on the guitar. If you are brand new to guitar you will want to know these crucial things.

Learning how to play guitar can very fun and rewarding but you want to make sure you are learning how to play guitar the right way. You don’t want to set yourself up for failure by learning poor guitar technique and developing bad habits. We then move on to show you how to play your first guitar chords. These will be very easy beginner guitar chords, starting with a simplified version of an E major chord and an A major chord. Gradually we work up to learning how to play the guitar chords in their traditional, proper form. By the end of this guitar lesson, you will be ready to play your first song.

There are many songs you can play on guitar with only these two chords, and we will show you a few examples of how to play these two guitar chords that are similar to some popular songs.
